Occupation and Activities: Regards my career and where I am now, will try to be brief:
--Graduated HS in 1957, and went to VMI in Sept 1957 to be an NCAA
champion in my weight class(Wrestling). Came to recognize the folly of
these events and transferred to VT in fall of 1958. Wanted to graduate
with my class of 1961, which meant getting 3 yrs at Tech plus summer
school to make up for lost time. Think the only thing that transferred was
English, even though VT did not seem too interested at the time.
--Graduated VT Dec 1961 with a BS degree in Business and entered the
NAVY in Jan 1962. Went to Pensacola, Fla to begin Flight training. A
wantabe NAVY pilot fighter hero type guy! Was sidelined here by a severe case
of vertigo at exactly the wrong time. There were no parking places up there
to recover before rejoining the fray. Oh well, another well laid plan----
Did attend NAVAL JUSTICE school and participate in Special Court Martial
Boards both aboard the USS ALBANY and NAS Oceana. Absolutely loved
participating on these Boards . Was released from active duty in Oct 1965
as a Lieutenant, USNR and went to work for Burroughs Corp selling Accounting systems.
---Was with Burroughs from 1965 until 1975 when I went to work for Univac, and thought
they were the best company on the planet to work for. This job lasted until Nov 1990,
15 years of a wonderful time. Due to a merger, lost my position at the ripe old age of 52,
did some business on my own until age 57 and then called a cab. It was over!!
BUT I WAS BLESSED! Loved what I was doing for a long time--
---Am very active in Church with related activities, active in the lives of my grand
children who are the delight of my life, and very active on the golf course with
some wonderful buddies. Have discovered that food costs are greater than cart
and golf fees when your buddy is a 12 year old grand son.
---I have had a wonderful life and am most Grateful for all that has been given me!

Steve,
Just a few words from an old guy:
Graduated in Winter 1961 with a BS in Business Admin. Lived with Bob, Jo Jo, Ken, Clyde and Frank in the "House" my Senior year when our project was to convert the coal bin into a real live "Bar", with beer on tap, no less.
Went directly from Va Tech into the Navy and, after serving my time went into the wonderful world of computers, with most of that time with Sperry Univac.
My grand children are now preparing for,or are graduating from college!
And it seems like only yesterday--so many great times--so much fun--
Thanks for being in touch,
Rad
