Donald W. Fowler, 71, of Oxford, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side at St. Vincent's Medical Center on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. Don was the beloved husband of 30 years to Christine Beardsworth Fowler and proud father of Kevin W. Fowler (Alexandra). He was born on July 30, 1944 in Framingham, MA, son to the late Frank and Evelyn Fowler of Upton, MA. Don was a dedicated engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft for 44 years, having secured a number of patents. Don was involved with Troop 1 BSA, Oxford, and the CCM club. He enjoyed hiking, high adventure trips with his son, and the boy scouts, mountaineering, sailing and snowmobiling. He successfully summited Aconcagua, Kilimanjaro, Whitney, Rainer, and his most treasured Mt. Washington. Don enjoyed traveling under sail aboard the family boat Second Chance and especially cherished his trips on chartered sailboats in the BVI.

Above all, Don's greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren, Eleanor and Desmond. Besides his loving wife, son, daughter in law, and cherished grandchildren, Don is survived by his brothers Leonard (Patricia) and Gary (Deborah), his in laws, Jane Luby, Gregory Beardsworth (Sue), Mary Ann Fotovat (Dr. Ahmad), Kathleen Eich (Robert), Thomas Beardsworth (Diane) and James Beardsworth (Bonnie), as well as his many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held on Sunday December 6, 2015 at 4p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, Friends may greet the family from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
