Hi All: John made a safe landing in our driveway Sunday afternoon. We had a great evening around the fire pit updating each other on our lives and rewinding our years at PI Kappa. Monday, we drove down to meet GA and Moo Smith for Lunch at Del JAX Hooters. GA's favorite lunch place. Quality of the day shift was impressive. Might need to go back for Happy Hour? It was great to catch up with Moo and GA. John set out for Bob Hudson's in Sarasota at about 1PM with a dinner stop with some of his non frat friends before Bob's place.. Believe he got to Bob's at about 8PM. Long day, but he had long breaks and good company. Believe he is headed to YAZ's place in Gainesville next. --Best to All-- -Hammes

John Miller and brother "Yaz", Bob Yezierski, hooking up in Gainsville, Florida 2018

"Had a great visit with our Brother Brillo.......took him on a tour of the UF campus and he got to see the Swamp.....Heisman Statues (Spurrier, Tebow and Danny W).......the building where Barb and I were married (that's a story), our baseball, lacrosse and softball stadiums and the home of the 2014, 2015 NCAA basketball champions (amazing how well UF has done over the years). Don't worry I am still a Hokie at heart......it is really hard to be a Gator. We also got a view of the Sigma Nu house on Fraternity Row and a look at the building where I called home for 16 years. We finished off with a great dinner from Sonny's with chicken, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork and all the fixens (quite a feast). As John was heading out we took the attached picture and wished him a safe journey. I was glad to hear he landed at his next destination......he is definitely traveling with an angel on his shoulder. I look forward to hearing more updates about Brillo's Journey" -Yaz

Phil and I enjoyed a long lunch with John between his visits with Yaz and Mac. Brillo is now heading north, with a tea –to-go and a smile on his face.

Regards to all, Ken

"Marta and I just said our goodbyes to John as he makes his way up to see use their ski in Gainesville. So, for the relay, I have passed him off safely. We had a great time with John and I took him to the gun range this morning. I am attaching a couple photos. I had arranged with the clerk to give John the pink ear protectors and pink glasses but John refused. I thought with the pink it would make an interesting photo to share. Just remember, thanks to Brisbane that we get to see brothers after so many years. Thanks" -Bob Hudson

Hello all,

Well I wanted to give you an update on my southern swing. On Sunday, I drove to St. Mary's, Ga. It was a relatively short drive (around 150 miles) and I arrived 20 Minutes early. The host and hostess (Black Bart and the lovely Wendy) could not have been more hospitable. And, A good time was had chewing the fat and getting caught up. The next day, Mike and I met G.A. and Mooooooo Smith for lunch in Jacksonville. Once again, a very enjoyable, time. While I have seen Black Bart and Bake in recent times, it had been a while since I had seen Moo. So, getting caught up was great. I left Jacksonville around 1 PM with a target of 5 PM to meet my family friend in Ruskin, Fl. at 5 PM. Siri took me down I-10, Rte. 301 and I-75. Rte. 301 was a speed up, slow down, speed up, slow down drive. Kinda defeats the purpose of cruise control. But, I walked into the restaurant that we had selected at the same time as my family friend. And then it was on to Sarasota and Bob Hudson and the lovely Marta. Bob lined me up with some "Rebel Yell" bourbon & Coke . I had not had R.Y. in 40+ years and it tasted very good (all 6 of the drinks- Maybe it was 3). So, I drove about 275 miles between Jacksonville and Sarasota for a total of 315 miles. SIRI took me to a gate to Bob's community that was locked and could not be opened. I had to override her in order get to Bob's. That was the first and only time she has fouled me. So, starting tomorrow, I am heading back north, with the first stop being at Chez Yaz. I will write to you tomorrow night. Take care Bros -John (aka Brillo)

Hello all,

Well, my trip is over as I am writing you from Richmond. The drive today was 435 miles and again it went very smoothly. But first, I wanted to thank Yaz and Mac for showing me Gainesville and Greenville. Yaz showed me all of the University of Florida campus that he knew and felt like would be interesting to me. I was amazed at how close together all the facilities are, or a least seemed to be. Yet each piece of the overall picture had it own uniqueness. Yaz had told me ahead of time that I would leave Gainesville with an appreciation of Gator Land. Indeed, It was impressive. Then I finished my longest day of driving by getting a motel room in Duluth, Ga. and simply stated died from being road weary. The next day, Kenny Hewitt and Phil Critcher and I met for a late lunch (1:30) which was a blessing as I was able to sleep in. We spent a good two hours or so just getting caught up. Kenny has been a lawyer for 25+ years and Phil has been a safety engineering consultant for nearly 20 years. It was a great location (Marlow's Tavern) with great food, and with great conversational Bros there. I thought that time really fly witch gives you some idea of how much conversation was had. Thanks to Kenny and Phil for taking time out of their schedules to have lunch with me. I really, really appreciated your efforts. And then I headed to see the Mac Attack and his bride Willie (sp?). If I remember correctly, I arrived within 10 minutes of my targeted time. One again, Mac and Willie gave me the run of their house (just as Black Bart and Wendy, Bobaloo and Marta, and Yaz and Barb had earlier in my trip. Mac showed me the lighted downtown old Greenville when he picked up Willie.. Mac also took me to a restaurant named Soby's which was very nice. And, showed me where the BMW manufacturing plant was. Then it was off to have lunch with Brad King at his country club. I think that both Dave and I were very surprised by the length of, breadth of and heights to which Brad had grown his career. Again, time really flew by as we learned more about each other. Mac thanks for taking time from your daily work to chauffer me around. You are a great Ober man. Then, it was off to see my friend in Knoxville. Once again, Siri was right on the money. I was able to spend I left Knoxville about 11 AM and reached Richmond in about 6 1/2 hours with one stop for gas. Total miles for the trip ended up at 2332.6. I had wanted to do tis trip for a couple of reasons. First, I wanted to find out more about each of you. As my brother's, I realized the I did not know as much about each of you as one brother should know about another. Secondly, I had only ever been to Jacksonville and Miami, Atlanta and Columbia.. I found that every one of the cities that I was in had a charm and quality all its own. I wanted to see Florida and where each of you lived. I also wanted to see if there was some room for those of you that live in the Sunshine State, Georgia, and South Carolina to make some effort to get together. I believe that I heard every one of you say that there was someone that you wanted to get together with looking down the road. Go big if you can. Make it happen. And, lastly, I just wanted to find out if I could make this trip with a somewhat aggressive schedule. I now know that I can, much to my satisfaction. As I have grown older, and have had to deal with some health issues, "Just Do It" is becoming my mantra. Be that it may, I could not done this trip without the help, sacrifice and caring of each of you. I owe each of you a sincere thanks that I may never be able to repay. Sooo, Bros take care. -John (aka Brillo)
