"I met Steve in 2014 when he asked me to take on the project of making a website for his college fraternity. He was a nice, sincere, and gentle man who knew what he wanted and would not settle for anything less than perfection, especially when it came to PiKappa. Over the years, it was a pleasure to get to know him on a personal level, and working along side him was a memory I will cherish forever. I learned a lot from Steve, and we had some good laughs when he would reminisce about his golden years at VT. I also had the distinct pleasure of meeting Vicki through Steve and she is such a sweetheart. Steve was a great conversationalist and when I think of him, I will always remember the way he chuckled and the way he smiled. Rest in peace, Briz. Thank you for all you have done for me and for your brothers. You will definitely be missed by many." - Khawaja Shah, PiKappa.net Admin 07/24/18

"After almost 50 years and having only seen Briz 3-4 times in the interim we came together again at fellow brother Charlie Peterson’s Wake, Steve was hosting at his Fairfax home. Steve asked me about the idea of trying to bring the fraternity together again, I agreed it would be a welcomed feat bringing the pre-WWII babies together with the post-WWII crew as the fraternity had a natural thinning in the years between the two factions. A couple months later we were totally engaged bringing Davis Hodsden into the fold making big strides accomplishing the intended goal. Steve commented he wanted to have fun doing this and that we did. He verified later we had exchanged over 2000 emails and as many telephone calls digging up Frat brother’s locations and status. Steve had more than his share of health problems over the years and at times I felt like he was pushing to bring us all together to outpace his own unknown fate. We lost Davis Hodsden a few days before our first reunion and now we shockingly lose Steve way too premature. Without the two the brotherhood would not have returned together in the same manner and surely not near the success. These last few years Steve was always asking and planning when the next time we were going to gather again. Briz was the General-in-Charge and he will be sorely missed by us all. Best wishes to Vicki as many don’t know but she was highly involved in the day to day progress missing much of her other obligations to help us stay on schedule. Vicki probably knows more about individual brothers and fraternity history than most brothers. We love you Steve, you made a great impression on all our lives. RIP Brother Briz." - G.A.
