John W. Oberholtzer, III of Marietta, GA passed away Thursday November 7, 2013 after battling pancreatic cancer.


John was born on September 17th, 1942 in Macon, GA to Robert and Violet Oberholtzer. He graduated from high school in Philadelphia and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, VA in 1967. John was drafted into the Army and served 14 months active duty in Vietnam as a finance officer. During his military service he received two Commendation Medals for Meritorious Achievement.


Upon discharge from the Army, John traveled to California to seek adventure. On July 30, 1971, he married his wife, Anne, in Los Angeles. John was employed in sales, home building and management throughout his career. John's exuberant personality and focus on solving issues brought him many accolades and "everyone loved him". John never met a stranger!


John is survived by his wife, two sons, John and Chris, daughter-in-law Kelly; three grandchildren, Kate Olivia, Brady and Quinn, his brothers Dean and Bob along with nieces, Elizabeth, Jennifer and Katherine and many friends all across the country.


The family has designated "Wreaths Across America" for memorial contributions.
